Next Round of Classes Starts May 3rd
Our next class session begins May 3rd and runs 4 weeks until May 28th. Now that the weather is warming up be prepared to go outside now and again. We may go off for a short jog or hit a park for a workout in the fresh air, so dress appropriately.
For those joining again, keep up the good work and keep those gains coming with more hard work and keep pushing yourself! For others thinking about joining up, don’t be intimidated. These programs can accomodate all levels of fitness. You dictate your intensity level (with a little encouragement from instructors and classmates) and work within your own abilities.
To register open the registration page on the right hand column and follow the instructions. Any problems just call 293.9757 or send us an email (info@exchangefitness.com).
The following link opens up an article extolling the benefits of interval training. That is the type of training we use in the Exchange fitness classes – short burst intense activities that get all the muscles moving in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
See you in class.

Kettlebell Workshop December 20th
RKC Instructor, Jon Rhoda will be hosting a Kettlebell Workshop at Exchange Fitness on Sunday, December 20th. Things get started at 11.00 am and will wrap up at about 1.30 pm.
If you are just starting out and curious about kettlebells, this is a great opportunity to get acquainted with this form of exercise and fitness under Jon’s guidance. This will help you learn all about the correct lifting patterns and how to start exercising with kettlebells in a safe and effective manner.
Even if you have some experience, this is also an opportunity to work on technique with a certified RKC instructor (google it up, there aren’t many around) and discuss the various types of movement and lifting patterns involved when training with KB’s.
Registration is not required, as there are no fees, but a quick email to jrhoda@hotmail.com would probably be appreciated before the event.
New Year’s Resolution?
The new schedule is up for January. Classes begin January 4th. Registration options are for 4, 8 or 12 weeks. Please remember that classes do require minimum numbers to go forward, so if you want to register, do it now.
New Year’s Resolutions seem to go hand in hand with fitness every year, and quite often with mixed, or poor results. That is why we suggest starting slowly, havng support, and not setting yourself up for failure. This is one reason that we find our classes can be quite successful as opposed to signing on to a gym membership and commiting to a contract
- let’s face it, most people want to burn calories and lose pounds. The most effective way to do this is not with slow long distance activity or slow bodybuilding methods of exercise. It is with short burst variable intensity and constant variety. People were made to run, jump and move their own bodyweight - that is in our DNA, and exactly what we did as children and that is what we do in our classes
- our class size is limited in the number of participants so that you have the benefit of a personal trainer. All exercises can be modified within the group dynamic to suit your needs, regardless of if you are just starting out or an experienced exerciser who just isn’t seeing the desired results
- Small classes also means that you will not be overwhelmed by crushing numbers at the gym and fighting for space on machines that don’t necessarily yield results. The best piece of exercise equipment is you!
- the group dynamic means that you are not on your own, there are others in the class just like you with the same apprehensions and goals. Group training also provides us with motivation, fun and sometimes friendly competition in class
- you are able to train with a qualified and experienced trainer which allows you to to always be supervised and given feedback to help you reach your goals
- we encourage all participants to start food logs to be submitted for review and will help you with nutritional information throughout the classes, including interactive workshops and handouts to help dispel myths and separate nutritional fact and fallacy
- our class times allow you to fit exercise into your busy schedule. Time is one of the biggest obstacles to making fitness a part of our daily activity. Our clases are designed to provideyou with intense exercise 2 or 3 days per week, and fit into your daily schedule.
- Have trouble motivating yourself to exercise? Get up a little earlier and come down to one of our morning classes before you start work. We have shower facilities and you will be amazed at how easy it is to get into the habit of working out and feeling energized before you start your day
- Not a morning person? We have 30 minute lunch classes, Express bootcamps, core class or yoga which allow you to still get a workout into your daily activity
- For those that prefer a post work workout we have early evening classes available. Instead of sitting in traffic, why not get in a workout and de-stress before you get home?
- If none of these fit into your work week, we are able to book private training appointments during the day. They can be individual one on one, or with friends and/or co-workers. Please contact us to discuss further
Food For Fitness!
I would just like to thank everyone that dropped by the studio this month and contributed a donation to the Harvest Food Bank.
Much appreciated.
1ST ANNUAL FOOD FOR FITNESS!

A Fundraiser for the Harvest Food Bank
Free Fitness Classes all December!
For the next 4 weeks we are offering free classes, subject to a donation to the Harvest Food Bank. We think it is a great cause that helps people in need. We will have a donation box for any non perishable food items that you can bring in lieu of admission*. If you have forgotten a food item, then we will also have a cash donation box, again with all proceeds going to the Harvest Food Bank. Another option is to go online and make a donation with this organisation and show us your receipt. Could be easier than carrying food to each class.
To see a list of class offerings over the next four weeks, navigate through the Current Schedules page on the right sidebar.
Please forward this on to anyone and everyone to make this annual event a great success!
*We will reserve all judgement on the food items brought in and save that for one of our upcoming Nutritional Workshops*
**Please note that you will be required to fill in a Liability and Waiver of Consent before participating in a class. Sorry, just the legalities that have to be done**
